WordPress Will Help Your Business

Maybe you already have a website or maybe you need to put a website together for your business. When considering a website platform or content management system for your small or medium sized business there is really only one choice, WordPress. Recently we had the opportunity to work with a Las Vegas massage business called Saffron Day Spa. When we begin working with Saffron Day Spa they had a website that was built using a content management system called Joomla. The site was complicated for the owner to manage and update. The website also had the problem of writing very bad title elements. If you have been following SEO, you know that the title element is perhaps the most important onpage SEO content to search engines. The title element tells the search engine what a webpage is about and so if your website doesn’t write good title elements it is a bit of a mess.

When we begin working on the Las Vegas massage website the Joomla site was getting just about 75 visitors a month. We undertook the job of converting the Las Vegas massage website to WordPress and enhancing its look and user friendliness. The site is now getting over 1000 local visitors monthly.

So what is the difference? Well, WordPress is very search engine friendly. Which has helped the site rank better in search result for a few reasons. First, is the title element mentioned above. If you look at the main page you will see the title element contains the word Las Vegas massage in the title. Further the URL structure of the site is much more search engine friendly. Instead of gibberish code like www.saffronlasvegas.com/pages=2? you instead have http://www.saffronlasvegas.com/day-spa-services/massage/ which tell both the search engines and website users what the page is about, resulting in greater visibility of the site.

Due to WordPress being easy to update, we have been able to expand the amount of content of the website. This is also great for search engines as content still counts for a lot. But more so this is great for potential customers who find the site much more useful. Some of the new content we were able to add include a slew of pages providing detailed explanations on services like deep tissue massage or prenatal massage which our Las Vegas Day Spa provides. The neat thing about WordPress is that it is so easy to add content to, as you will see in the following picture (click to enlarge):

Now, looking at the picture you can see how simple WordPress is. Once the site design is set up all you have to do is use the interface to post new content to the website. Content is very important as the sites with good and fresh content receive bonuses by all the major search engines in their ranking algorithms. WordPress is Social Media Friendly

WordPress is social media friendly, meaning that it is very easy to facilitate sharing of your content to social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Shared content has a very positive effect on your ranking ability as well. Older sites built in HTML are not so friendly to social networks and this puts older websites at some what of a disadvantage to sites built with WordPress.

Again it comes down to content and being able to add quality content literally at will makes your website a quality website. People like to share quality content, people like to link to quality content which in the end will help your site rank better. Ranking better gets you more traffic and more customers.
